Heated Camera Housing Window

The Heated Camera Housing Window is designed to work seamlessly with the Camtraptions Lens Heater and Weather-sealed Camera Housing, to create a highly efficient and effective anti-condensation heating system.

The heating filaments are contained within a wafer-thin film (0.2mm), which is permanently bonded to the Camera Housing’s Glass Window. This ensures maximum-efficiency heat transfer directly onto the surface where it matters most – in front of the camera lens.

The shape of the heating film has been designed for high coverage of the glass surface without interfering with the lens’s field of view. Heat is transferred through to the centre of the glass window by thermal conduction.

A thin cable runs from the window underneath the lens to the heating controller and a battery which can be stowed underneath the camera.

The Heated Camera Housing Window comes in two types, which can be selected using the dropdown menu above:

  • High Power: provides more intense heating but is less power efficient, for situations where battery life is less of a constraint.
  • High Efficiency: provides more gentle heating but is more power efficient, for situations where battery life should be conserved.

Each Heated Camera Housing Window comes with protective foam-lined metal storage case, to keep it safe during transportation.

For fully automated and timed heating, the Camtraptions heating controller must be purchased separately here.

For 24/7 heating, the window can be plugged directly into any 5V USB powerbank or mains adapter, rated to at least 0.6 Amps.


Battery Life Data

The following tables show the approximate number of days of battery life that can be obtained with different power sources. Calculations have been made assuming that the system is heating for 5 hours per day.

Note that “Heating Level” is set by the heating controller while the option of “High Power” or “High Efficiency” is determined by your choice of window “Type” above.
