The Camtraptions Wired Flash Adapter is necessary for creating wired camera trap systems with the Z Pro Camera Trap Flash. This universal adapter enables any brand of camera* such as Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fuji, Olympus or Panasonic, to be used in a wired camera trap with one or more Z Pro Flashes.

The purpose of the Wired Flash Adapter is to handle all signals from a motion sensor into the camera and from the camera to Z Pro Flashes. The adapter then ensures that the Z Pro Flashes receive both the “wake” and “shoot” signals that are necessary for their proper operation.

It is important to note that the Wired Flash Adapter must be connected into a Flash Hot Shoe Adapter (purchased separately here) mounted in the camera’s hot shoe.

The Wired Flash Adapter features the following connectors:

1. A 3.5mm Stereo Male Jack for plugging into the Female Waterproof Enclosure Entry Cable to send signals out to one or more Z Pro Flashes through the Waterproof Cable System. Alternatively a female to female 3.5mm stereo coupler may be used to connect into our standard non-waterproof Flash Splitter Cables and Flash Cables.
2. A 3.5mm Mono Male Jack for plugging into a universal Flash Hot Shoe Adapter mounted in the camera’s hot shoe.
3. A 2.5mm Stereo Male Jack for plugging into a Camtraptions Wireless Receiver (picking up signals from a Wireless PIR Sensor) or to plug directly into a wired PIR Motion Sensor via a Sensor Extension Cable.
4. A 2.5mm Stereo Female Socket for plugging into a camera’s shutter release socket via Camera Connecting Cable.

*Any camera that has a universal centre ‘shoot’ contact in the hot shoe is compatible with this Wired Flash Adapter and therefore the Z Pro Flash.
